This bold, eye-catching still life is from the Nature Morte series by Spanish artist Antonio Guansé. Guansé was a mid-century Modernist/Expressionist who moved to Paris in 1953 where he was greatly influenced by the art of Picasso and Van Gogh. In 1962, he was awarded the important Prix de la Critique.
